Mr. Woodbury is the Firm’s founding member. Mr. Woodbury’s practice areas include commercial and complex litigation and business consultation, focusing largely on lender-side commercial real estate litigation and claims stemming from resulting property ownership (ADA, construction litigation, etc.), business litigation, and real estate matters, including all aspects of commercial and residential real estate closings, contract and document preparation, escrow agent services, and issuing title insurance.

Mr. Woodbury’s present and recent work for the Firm includes: condominium termination and development work for developers throughout Florida; a zero liability jury trial verdict for a secured lender accused of misappropriating a multi-million dollar real estate commission; representation of secured noteholders and special servicers through the State of Florida, litigating hundreds of millions of dollars in commercial mortgaged-back securities loans successfully through trial and appeals; representing the former owner of the Miami Beach Canyon Ranch Resort in complex construction and contract litigation; representing the former owner of the Miami Beach Setai Hotel and Residences in multiple matters ranging from construction disputes to ADA defense claims and contractual disputes involving the hotel’s recording studio; defending several hotel and business owners throughout Florida against ADA lawsuits; representing a Miami Beach master condominium association in a major litigation over the scope, manner, and timing of a 40-year recertification requirement for a large-scale condominium project; representing the owner of a Florida Keys landmark hotel in seawall encroachment litigation; resolving high value condominium disputes between Fisher Island condominium owners; and representing a public company client in several image use and licensure lawsuits in Florida federal courts. Corporate and individual clients throughout the country call on Mr. Woodbury and the Firm to assist them with their Florida commercial litigation matters, to which the Firm applies a responsive but streamlined and results-oriented focus to the litigation process.

Licensed in Florida since 1993, Mr. Woodbury was associated with the New York firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP prior to founding the Firm in 1999. During this period, Mr. Woodbury co-authored the Florida Antitrust Law Section of West Antitrust Law 1999 and was Secretary of the Florida Bar Rules of Judicial Administration Committee from 1994 to 1995. Mr. Woodbury graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 1993, is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell, its highest rating for excellence in Legal Ability and Ethics, and was designated a Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend in 2012, an honor bestowed on fewer than 2% of active Florida Bar members.
